There is so much great content out there – books, magazines and of course BLOGS.
Since I dove into the blogging sphere a few years ago, I came to discover a number of great writers. Some are funny, some insightful, some inspiring and some are all of those things combined.
My only wish is I had more time to read my favorite bloggers’ posts. Between work and family and trying to do my own writing – it’s challenging. But when I am able to carve out some time for this guilty pleasure, I often feel so much better.
These women are smart and sensitive and remind me that we are all just trying to do the best we can on a daily basis.
I have yet to meet the women below in person, but in some cases, our online exchanges have meant the world to me. I don’t always leave a comment, but I hope they know I am a fan, and their words matter to me.
So in no particular order – my 10 favorite bloggers of the moment.
Alexa is beyond inspiring. A mother of four children – three on this earth and one in heaven – she writes about life, grieving, politics, products, books. She is definitely a woman of many passions – and it shows in her writing. She is the girlfriend you need – honest, opinionated, funny and determined.
I started blogging around the same time as Ilene, and while she admits that blogging is taking a back-burner to some of her other pursuits right now, when she writes a post, I know I must read it. She makes me think, and her positive spirit shines. I wish I could take a yoga class with her – I just know she would be an awesome guide.
Nicole is a fellow working mama, juggling two young kids and full-time career. She is also a dedicated runner. I can relate to her posts of balancing life, and I love that she makes time for exercise to maintain her sanity.
Raluca is also a working mom of two. She blogs about fashion, pop culture, food, books, weekend adventures and parenthood. I love her style and down-to-earth writing. She additionally features a column on “I don’t how she does it” about women doing the work-mom balancing act.
Gigi is truly a social media maven. Her site features tons of content on figuring out all things blogger-esque. She also has a fabulous way with words – and I totally connect to her posts on parenthood as she wrestles with helping her kids find their passions, and the challenges we all face in raising healthy, confident individuals.
Need a laugh? Then start following Marie. A mother of three kids who writes about life and other random musings. She is funny and smart and straight-up honest. I would love to share a bottle of wine with this woman!
Sarah is a local OC girl, so I love reading about the adventures of her adorable family. She has great fashion, home decor and food recommends. Perhaps we’ll meet one of these days – until then I love keeping up with her pursuits on life in So. Cal.
Christine is also an awe-inspiring fitness mom. As a yoga newbie, I love her pics of cool poses. She also runs! Christine – when will my ultra-tight running hips open up? She too shares beautiful stories about her motherhood journey, and her kind, inspiring words always bring a smile to my face.
Samantha writes for a number of high-profile publications while maintaining a fabulous site dedicated to the lifestyle of working moms. I had the pleasure of listening to her speak last year at Mom 2.0, and she is wicked smart!
And of course I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention Stasha. I love how she hosts Monday Listicles. When my brain hurts, but I desire to crank out a post, I know I can turn to her site for inspiration. She is also a fabulous photographer, showcasing many pics of her cute dogs and son.
I always love when I discover a new voice to follow. In fact, if you have a recommendation, let me know.
And to the women above, thanks for the energy you spend on your respective blogs. You are talented and kind and simply amazing!
