Subscription services have exploded over the past few years, and we are all trying a few and comparing notes.
Some relate to food, others to meal planning, and of course the most fun revolves around clothes and shoes.
Like most women, I love a new outfit or pair of shoes every so often, but I HATE the mall. I avoid it like the plague. I don’t have time. I don’t want to face the crowds. And who wants to fight parking?
So I shop online. Or I host the occasional CAbi show in my home. And I venture into small boutiques.
My latest discovery – thanks to my fellow blogger Redhead Reverie – is Stitch Fix. So awesome!
Fill out a basic style questionnaire, drop in your sizes and price range and schedule a “Fix.” A personal shopper – for a small $20 fee – selects five pieces for you, drops them in the mail and you can try them on in the comfort of your own home. Don’t like the pieces? Just send back what you don’t want to keep in the bag they provide – the postage is paid for. You can buy one piece, a few, all five or none.
Additionally, the stylist provides little visual inspiration cards to help you match the pieces provided with things you likely already have in your closet. Brilliant!
Unlike some of the other subscription services, I like that you can elect how often to schedule your “Fix.” It can be as frequently as every month, every quarter or on demand.
I received my first “Fix” a few weeks ago and have since been complimented on all of the pieces I elected to keep.
Of course I don’t have a bottomless wallet, so I’ll opt to use the service every once in a while, but I love knowing it is there to use when I can use a mini-wardrobe refresh.
How do you like to shop for your clothes? Have you tried Stitch Fix yet?
Click on the icon below if you’re interested in trying it out. I can score some credits for the referral, and then you can grab a referral code as well.
Disclaimer: I was not compensated by Stitch Fix to promote their service. I’m just sharing because I loved it so much, and it is a working mom’s dream when it comes to shopping. 😉
